Act 5 · Patch 13.06
Yoru
Duelist · Planned deception
Japanese native Yoru rips holes straight through reality to infiltrate enemy lines unseen. Using deception and aggression in equal measure, he gets the drop on each target before they know where to look.
Duelists are self-sufficient fraggers who their team expects, through abilities and skills, to get high frags and seek out engagements first.
Why we fit it where we do Maps with two credible approaches are the only place a fake is believed.
The four
CFAKEOUTflashEQUIP an echo that transforms into a mirror image of Yoru when activated. FIRE to instantly activate the mirror image and send it forward. ALT FIRE to place an inactive echo. USE to transform an inactive echo into a mirror image and send it forward. Mirror images explode in a Blinding flash when destroyed by enemies.
QBLINDSIDEflashEQUIP to rip an unstable dimensional fragment from reality. FIRE to throw the fragment, activating a flash that winds up once it collides with a hard surface.
EGATECRASHmobilityEQUIP a rift tether FIRE to send the tether forward. ALT FIRE to place a stationary tether. ACTIVATE to teleport to the tether's location. USE to trigger a fake teleport. GATECRASH resets a charge every two kills.
XDIMENSIONAL DRIFTmobilityEQUIP a mask that can see between dimensions. FIRE to drift into Yoru's dimension, unable to be affected or seen by enemies from the outside. REACTIVATE to exit Yoru's dimension early.

Rehearsal Custom practice · Send the tether, walk the fake, and teleport on the same count every time.
Watch out The teleport is loud on arrival — it fakes a push, it does not hide one.
Buying for it
- Priority
- Rifle; the kit is cheap
- First utility
- Gatecrash toward the site you are NOT taking
- Position
- Alone, on the fake
- The mistake
- Improvising the fake instead of calling it
Patch 13.06
Nothing in patch 13.06 names this agent. Your habits carry over — the retest list on the patch page is short and this is not on it.
Yoru balance history
Riot's notes from patch 1.01 to 13.06 change Yoru in 11 patches. The latest is patch 13.01, published 2026-07-14.
Patch 13.012026-07-14
GATECRASH
- Active Beacon Duration increased from15sto20s
FAKEOUT
- To further satisfy his deception fantasy, clones from Fakeout will now hold Yoru's last equipped weapon, instead of defaulting to his strongest weapon.
Patch 12.052026-03-17
GATECRASH
- Duration beacon is active reduced 30s >> 15s
BLINDSIDE
- Charges reduced from 2 >> 1.
Why, in Riot's words
Yoru is crowding out the viability of flash Initiators and sometimes even Sentinels, especially in higher ranks and Pro play. He has the strongest map-wide rotation ability on the roster, can take forward space extremely well, and has one of the strongest general use flashes in the game. In general, we think Yoru is too strong and is starting to bleed into other roles at the cost of comp diversity. So we’re adjusting his strongest abilities, Gatecrash and Blindside, so that Yoru has to make more meaningful tradeoffs when he decides to use them.
Patch 11.082025-10-14
GATECRASH
- Health decreased from60to20
- Audio now plays from Yoru's location when Yoru teleports or fakes it
FAKEOUT
- Flash duration decreased from3sto2s
BLINDSIDE
- Flash duration decreased from1.75sto1.5s
DIMENSIONAL DRIFT
- Yoru can no longer cast Blindside, or set up his fakeout during Dimensional Drift
- He can still cast the initial Gatecrash and reactivation, as well as reactivation of Fakeouts
Why, in Riot's words
We've seen a notable rise in Yoru mastery, but his kit has become so effective it can overshadow other Duelists, and even some Initiators. We're making changes to make his tools a bit more selfish and encourage coordinated team plays to achieve his potential.
Flash now follows the standard flash falloff curves as other Agents. Previously, Yoru's flashes that were slightly offscreen were more effective than intended
Patch 10.082025-04-29
- Dimensional Drift duration reduced12sto10s
- Dimensional Drift point cost7to8
Why, in Riot's words
Yoru’s Dimensional Drift is a powerful ultimate that requires a lot of opponent attention, so we’re standardizing its duration to similar ultimates and raising its point cost.
Patch 10.062025-04-01
- Fakeout is providing a bit too much return on investment at the 100 credit cost.
FAKEOUT
- Cost increase100to200 credits
Why, in Riot's words
We’re also reducing his resurrection duration on his ultimate to reinforce the potential for teamplay to pick up an ally KAY/O.
Patch 5.122022-12-06
EGatecrash
- Health decreased100to60
- Cost decreased200to150
- What’s that? Looks like several Agents are reviewing some important mission updates in The Range.
Why, in Riot's words
We’re looking to slightly refine Sage's strengths to be more about fortifying areas she controls and helping allies, rather than offense-focused with her utility. We’re hoping the heal update will push her power and satisfaction when fully healing others while creating tradeoffs for playing Sage overly aggressive and relying on self-healing.
Patch 5.072022-10-04
- BLINDSIDE (Q) duration increased1.5sto1.75s
- Reduced the size of the hologram on the body marker that shows up when dead bodies are turned off.
Why, in Riot's words
Yoru is a tricky agent, as we need to balance him around his capability to throw flashes during his ultimate. We opted to go with a simple duration increase for Blindside as we feel maintaining the turning counterplay around his flash and clone is important to avoid excessively frustrating situations.
Patch 5.012022-07-12
XDimensional Drift
- Increased duration of ultimate10sto12s
- Reduced unequip time1.2sto0.8s
Why, in Riot's words
We’ve noticed you Yoru players having a bit of friction achieving the dream of setting up a master plan while in ultimate. We’re hoping these changes will reduce a bit of that problem, rewarding you for using your flash during ultimate, while still preventing unhealthy play patterns that leave enemies without counterplay.
Patch 4.042022-03-01
FAKEOUT
- Charges reduced from2to1
- Decoy HP: 150
- Decoy is now a full running version of Yoru and can only be sent running forward
- Right -click to place a stationary marker for the decoy
- Reactivate similarly to footsteps to create the decoy that runs forward
- Enemies within the cone are flashed
GATECRASH
- Charges increased from1to2
- Cost: 200 Credits
- Cooldown charge refresh removed, switched back to 2-kill reset
- Gatecrash can be faked by pressing F, while hovering over the beacon
- Fake teleport will play audio and portal visuals as if Yoru is attempting to teleport.
- Time it takes for teleport beacon has decreased1.5to0.5 seconds
- Teleport beacon’s in-game audio while traveling reduced22.5mto12.5m
- Teleport beacon’s speed has been increased675to800
DIMENSIONAL DRIFT
- Duration increased8to10 seconds
- Yoru is not revealed to enemies
- Unequip delay time increased0.6to1.2 seconds
- Yoru is now able to cast all utility out of his ultimate
- Yoru’s footsteps can now be heard within 15m of Yoru’s location
- Cast delay added upon casting Dimensional Drift, preventing the invulnerability frame on cast
Why, in Riot's words
If you want some background on how we got here, read our previous breakdown.
Upon taking damage from an enemy gun, the decoy winds up, turns towards the enemy that shot it, and explodes after a short delay.
Upon activating a fake teleport, the beacon creates a small decal on the floor for 30 seconds to indicate location of the fake teleport
Patch 2.062021-03-30
- Flash activation time decreased0.8to0.6 seconds
- Flash duration increased from1.1to1.5 Gatecrash (E)
- Gatecrash is no longer refreshed on kills and is instead replenished every 35 seconds
- Lifetime of the Gatecrash fragment increased 20 secondsto30 seconds
- The range at which the Gatecrash fragment is revealed from stealth decreased7mto4m
Why, in Riot's words
Yoru carries a fantasy that you’ve been excited to see through, but we believe a few restrictions have made it harder to access. Although Yoru is a unique duelist on the roster, both in pace and in playstyle, we think he should still be a strong contender for good compositions and want to ensure the value he offers to his team is more consistent throughout a match. Blindside (Q)
Patch 2.032021-02-17
XDimensional Drift
- While in Dimensional Drift, Yoru’s minimap is now visible
- Dimensional Drift can no longer body block enemies
Why, in Riot's words
The range that enemies are able to hear the audio of a Gatecrash teleport is now displayed on the minimap
Enemies within Yoru’s vision range, while in Dimensional Drift, are now revealed to ally minimaps, as well
