WoW Forever Editions: What Each Pack Costs and Includes

Playing needs only a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. Three optional packs are on sale: $29.99, $59.99 and $79.99.

Verdict

You do not need any pack to play: a normal subscription or Game Time is enough. The packs are optional extras.

WoW Forever Collector’s Edition, Skyborne and friend codes

Each answer carries how settled it is and who settled it. Where nobody has said, the card says that instead of guessing — and says what stays open even after the answer.

Do I need a pack to play the Skyborne race?

Stated

Yes. Blizzard says the race and its Zephras Isle questline need the Heroic pack or a higher edition.

Blizzard’s page footnote: access to the Skyborne race or the Zephras Isle starting experience requires purchase of the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition. Epic and the Collection include everything in Heroic.

Still open — Whether Skyborne can be unlocked another way after launch.

Who gets Invite-a-Friend codes?

Stated

Pack buyers: one code with Heroic, three in total with Epic or the Collection.

Codes are emailed from 20 October (Pacific time). A friend redeems one through Battle.net and plays 4–11 November without a subscription or Game Time. Codes carry no beta access and gift purchases are excluded; other restrictions apply.

Is there a physical Collector’s Edition?

Stated

Yes, through the Blizzard Gear Store, with a restock due to ship in February 2027.

Blizzard’s post lists a Warcraft Forever Collection digital code, a 13-inch Dwarf and Bear statue, a Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, collectible pins and a companion journal. Restock orders arrive after launch, with one copy per household. Method reports €150 plus shipping in the EU.

Still open — The US price.

Does the Heroic pack include WoW Forever beta access?

Stated

No. Beta access came with the Epic pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection, not the Heroic pack.

Blizzard’s product page compare table lists beta access for Epic and the Collection only. Heroic still includes the Skyborne race, Early Name Reservation, a ground mount, cosmetics and one Invite-a-Friend code. Blizzard says the beta closes at 10:00 a.m. PDT on 23 October.

At what hour does the Collection sale end?

Nobody has said

Blizzard gives a date, 11 January 2027, and no hour.

Both the pre-purchase post and the product page say the Collection is available through 11 January 2027. Neither gives a time zone or an hour, so the clock on this page counts to the end of that date.

Still open — The closing hour.

What would change this page

  • A price change for any pack.
  • A change to what a pack contains.
  • The Collection sale end moving from 11 Jan 2027.
  • A new pack or bundle.

Item names are Blizzard’s. A pack has no published in-game price, so we do not rank them by value.
