Veto

Sentinel · Utility nullifier

Empowered by an unstoppable DNA mutation, Senegalese enforcer Veto defies the rules of engagement by nullifying his opponent's powers and technology. On Veto's battlefield, gunplay is your only guarantee.

Sentinels are defensive experts who can lock down areas and watch flanks, both on attacker and defender rounds.

Why we fit it where we do Where defences lean on destructible or bounceable utility, removing it wins the round.

The four

  • Crosscut (C) ability iconCCrosscutmobility

EQUIP a vortex. FIRE to place on the ground. While in range and looking at the vortex, ACTIVATE to teleport to the vortex. During the BUY PHASE, the vortex can be reclaimed to be REDEPLOYED.

  • Chokehold (Q) ability iconQChokeholdtrap

EQUIP a viscous fragment of your mutation. FIRE to throw. The fragment deploys upon hitting the ground, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Held enemies are Deafened, and Decayed. Enemies can destroy the trap before activation.

  • Interceptor (E) ability iconEInterceptortrap

EQUIP the Interceptor. FIRE to place the Interceptor at projected location. Once placed, RE-USE to activate. Once active, it will destroy any utility that would BOUNCE off a player and/or be destroyed naturally by gunfire. Enemies can destroy the Interceptor.

  • Evolution (X) ability iconXEvolutionsupport

INSTANTLY begin to fully mutate, gaining a combat stim, regeneration, and becoming IMMUNE to all forms of debuffs.

  1. Patch 13.002026-06-23

    Interceptor

    • Reclaim cooldown reduced from 30s to 20s.

    Crosscut

    • Usable area increased from 24m to 30m.
    • Arming time after placing was reduced from 1.5s to .75s.
    Why, in Riot's words

Sentinels serve an important role in the VALORANT tactical loop by punishing attackers who ignore macro strategy and instead opt for repeated, low information 5-player site hits. We believe VALORANT is best when strategy is mixed. These changes are aimed at improving overall Sentinel power so they can better serve their purpose in keeping disrespectful attackers honest, as well as improve their kill potential when anchoring sites alone.
