Brian Heder in GTA 6

Brian's a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys.

Rockstar's own profile reads: “Brian's a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys. Still moving product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori, Brian's been around long enough to let others do his dirty work.” “Brian’s letting Jason live rent-free at one of his properties — so long as he helps with local shakedowns, and stops by for Lori’s sangria once in a while.” The page heads the portrait with “Nothing better than a Mudslide at sunset.”.

Stephen Root — and he said so himself. Rockstar has not credited him, or anyone else.

Asked by the Associated Press in September 2026 whether he is in the game, Root said yes, as Brian Heder; fans had already recognised his voice in Rockstar’s own footage of the character. He is the first performer in the cast to confirm a part. Root is an Emmy-nominated actor whose voice many know from King of the Hill, where he played Bill Dauterive and Buck Strickland. The publisher’s character page still credits no one, so this rests on the performer’s word rather than on a credit.

Still open — How large the part is, and which missions Brian appears in — nobody has said.

“I hauled so much grass in that plane, I could make the state of Leonida levitate.”

Beside Brian Heder's portrait, Rockstar's page prints 2 lines: “I hauled so much grass in that plane, I could make the state of Leonida levitate.” and “Looks like a Leonida beach bum — moves like a great white shark.”

Still open — Where in the game each line is spoken, and to whom.

4 on Rockstar's page — 4 in the Brian Heder gallery.

Rockstar describes each image itself: • Brian Heder gallery — “Brian and Jason riding in a car. Brian looks out of the window in the passenger seat while Jason looks ahead behind the wheel.” • Brian Heder gallery — “Brian leaning against a railing with two cans in front of him. He is wearing a sleevless shirt and a bandana.” • Brian Heder gallery — “Brian holding a package while pointing at a another man in a plane.” • Brian Heder gallery — “A woman, Brian, and Jason stand outside talking in front of a pickup truck. The woman stands behind Brian as he gives a handgun to Jason.”

Still open — Which mission or moment each image comes from — Rockstar does not say.
