Every figure shows its source. Where a source is missing, the number is a placeholder — and it is never written as fact.

Grand Theft Auto VI vehicle count — why six databases publish six different numbers

Open questions — 3

What Rockstar has established

Rockstar has published no vehicle total and no vehicle list. It has named individual vehicles in trailers, screenshots and store copy. Every number below is therefore somebody’s count, not the game’s.

Who says what — and what they are counting

  • 198GTA IntelSource

Vehicles it calls confirmed, drawn from the official trailers and the official press kit.

We read itchecked 20 Aug 2026
  • 200+GTABaseSource

Vehicles seen in official trailers and screenshots. The page does not separate unique models from variants or from repeat sightings.

We read itchecked 24 Aug 2026
  • 163Leonida BaySource

Vehicles the community has identified BY NAME — out of more than 200 it says have been spotted. The only source here that publishes both numbers.

We read itchecked 24 Aug 2026
  • 146retrogemsSource

Vehicles listed against the real-world cars they appear to be based on.

We read itchecked 20 Aug 2026
  • over 100GameRantSource

A stated floor rather than a count. The same article notes that only one new vehicle has an official name.

We read itchecked 20 Aug 2026
  • 185 entries, 6 confirmedGTADBSource

Catalogue entries, with a much smaller subset marked confirmed — the widest gap between "listed" and "established" of any source here.

Reported to uschecked 24 Aug 2026

Why the numbers disagree

  • The sources are not counting the same unit. "Identified by name" and "spotted in a trailer" are different questions, and one source publishes both — 163 and 200+ — on the same page.

    • Leonida Bay: 163 named, 200+ spotted
    • GTABase: 200+, unit unstated
  • Two of the six publish a floor, not a total. "Over 100" and "200+" cannot be compared with 198 or 146 — they are different kinds of statement wearing the same column heading.

    • GameRant: "over 100"
    • GTABase: "over 200"
  • "Confirmed" is used for at least three different standards: named by Rockstar, visible in official material, and identified by readers. Only one source separates its catalogue from what it will call confirmed.

    • GTADB: 185 entries but 6 confirmed
    • GTA Intel: 198 all called confirmed
  • One of the six cannot be checked at all. Its page loads for a person and refuses a reader, so its number can be repeated but never verified — including by us.

    • GTADB: HTTP 403 on 20 and 24 August

Rename — Creado became Ganado

Jason’s personal vehicle · detected 20 Aug 2026

  • GTABaseNow shows Ganado ’70 and no longer surfaces the old name on its vehicles list. · checked 24 Aug 2026Source
  • GameRantNames one officially named new vehicle without noting that the name changed. · checked 20 Aug 2026Source

A seventh figure — 143 — circulates in aggregator summaries. We could not trace it to a page that states it, so it is named here rather than given a row it has not earned.

What Rockstar has established

Rockstar has published no framerate, no resolution and no performance-mode statement, for any console. Its only technical statement about the Extended Look is that the footage was captured in-game on a PlayStation 5 — a claim about capture, not about performance.

Who says what — and what they are counting

  • 30 fps at 4KTech4GamersSource

What creators were shown at a preview in July, plus the broadcast footage.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026
  • 30 fpsNotebookcheckSource

A development target, described by a Rockstar developer in a preview interview.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026
  • 30 fpsKotakuSource

The same remark, one remove further out: studio visit, Portuguese preview, then English.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026
  • 25–30 fpsSportskeeda (Tech)Source

How the broadcast looked to viewers. The article states there was no frame-rate counter.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026

Why the numbers disagree

  • Four sources, one origin. The figure comes from a single developer remark during a creator’s studio visit, published first by a Brazilian site in Portuguese. Sources quoting each other agree by construction, not by checking.

    • Notebookcheck: attributes it to a Flow Games preview
    • Kotaku: studio visit → Flow Games → here, with one translation
  • "Current builds are targeting 30 fps" and "confirmed to run at 30 fps" are statements about different things at different times — a build in August, and a game that ships in November.

    • Notebookcheck: "current builds are targeting 30 fps"
    • Tech4Gamers headline: "Confirmed To Run At 4K 30FPS"
  • A framerate cannot be read off a broadcast. The stream is re-encoded at its own fixed rate, so a figure taken from watching it describes the encode and not the game — which one of the four says about itself.

    • Sportskeeda: the footage "does not provide a reliable frame-rate counter"
    • Sportskeeda: viewers "felt" certain sequences ran at 25–30
  • The one thing the developer actually left open is the thing no headline carries. Every row prints the 30; none of the headlines print that a 60 fps option was explicitly not ruled out.

    • Notebookcheck: "doesn’t rule out 60 fps at launch or later"
    • Kotaku: the technical team "still has to be consulted"

What Rockstar has established

Rockstar has published no tracklist for the showing and no soundtrack for the game. Every list below was assembled by a person listening to the broadcast, and one of the three says so in its own words.

Who says what — and what they are counting

  • 12 songsRolling Stone (Canada)Source

Tracks the writer could identify while watching the broadcast.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026
  • 14 songsSVGSource

Tracks identified in the broadcast, kept separate from four named in earlier material.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026
  • 14 songsIn Music BlogSource

Tracks identified in the broadcast, given in playing order.

We read itchecked 28 Aug 2026

Why the numbers disagree

  • Every list was made by listening. No tracklist has been published by anyone with access to one, and one of the three sources says so in its own words rather than implying it.

    • Rolling Stone: "no official soundtrack has been provided"
    • The other two name no publisher source either
  • The whole disagreement is two entries. Twelve are common to all three lists in the same order; two appear in two lists and not the third. With no published tracklist there is nothing to check either against, so the gap measures the listeners, not the video.

    • In two lists, not the third: "Off the Grid" (!!! feat. Meah Pace)
    • In two lists, not the third: "Mine O’ Mine" (Aluna & Jayda G)
  • A song in a preview is not a song in the game. One source keeps four earlier tracks in a group of their own rather than folding them in; the other two draw no line at all.

    • SVG: a separate "previously confirmed" group
    • Neither other row distinguishes broadcast from game
  • Licensed music is the part of a soundtrack most likely to change between a preview and release. A list that is exactly right today is still a claim about a video, not about November.

    • No publisher list exists to be checked against at launch

How this page was made

  1. 1A row exists only if we opened the page it cites, or the row says we could not.
  2. 2The date on a row is the date we read it, never the date we published.
  3. 3A floor ("over 100") or a range ("25–30") is never rewritten as a total.
  4. 4Sources that agree because they quote each other are counted as agreement about one source, not four.
  5. 5No source is scored. What each one counts is quoted; how good it is, is not ours to grade.
  6. 6When two of our own checks disagree, both dates are kept — the change is the finding.

These are claims published by other outlets, not Rockstar’s official figures. Each row links to the page it was read from and carries the date we read it.
