  EQUIP a shrouded step ability and see its range indicator. FIRE to begin a brief channel, then teleport to the marked location.

  EQUIP a blinding orb. FIRE to throw it forward, briefly Nearsighting and Deafening all players it touches. This projectile can pass straight through walls.

• EDark Coversmoke

  EQUIP a shadow orb, entering a phased world to place and target the orbs. PRESS the ability key to throw the shadow orb to the marked location, creating a long-lasting shadow sphere that blocks vision. HOLD FIRE while targeting to move the marker further away. HOLD ALT FIRE while targeting to move the marker closer. PRESS RELOAD to toggle normal targeting view.

• XFrom the Shadowsmobility

  EQUIP a tactical map. FIRE to begin teleporting to the selected location. While teleporting, Omen will appear as a Shade that can be destroyed by an enemy to cancel his teleport, or PRESS EQUIP for Omen to cancel his teleport.

1. Patch 11.102025-11-11

   • Spectators can now see Omen’s perspective in Dark Cover when he is placing his smokes.
   Why, in Riot's words

   Clove is dominating competitive queue pick rates and preventing other controllers from being picked. These changes are aimed at shaving off Clove’s snowballing power. When Clove’s team gets ahead in advantageous states, they very easily outperform other controllers.

2. Patch 11.082025-10-14

   • Cooldown increased from30s→to40s

   We're also aiming to create more consistency across the game's various debuffs, making it easier to build muscle memory when playing with or against effects like Nearsight, Concuss, and Stims.

   Controllers were largely in a healthy state and required few changes, though some abilities have been adjusted to align with recent roster-wide updates.

   As strategic diversity in VALORANT evolved, Omen has struggled to find his place within the meta. Many of you enjoy his gameplay loop, but have found it increasingly difficult to justify his selection in higher tiers of play. We want to increase his reliability as a Controller by rolling back a selection of early nerfs to Dark Cover, and sharpen his combat-focused abilities.
