Breach — VALORANT's Through-the-Wall Initiator
Initiator · Forced entry
Breach plays from behind walls: Flashpoint, Fault Line, Aftershock and his ultimate Rolling Thunder all fire through terrain, so you set up the entry rather than take it. He is an Initiator whose round job is forced entry; narrow chokes and thin walls suit him, and our written situations use him on Split and Sunset. The catch: his flash blinds your own entry too.
The bionic Swede Breach fires powerful, targeted kinetic blasts to aggressively clear a path through enemy ground. The damage and disruption he inflicts ensures no fight is ever fair.
Initiators challenge angles by setting up their team to enter contested ground and push defenders away.
Why we fit it where we do Narrow chokes and thin walls let the whole kit land through terrain.
The four
CAftershockdamageEQUIP a fusion charge. FIRE the charge to set a slow-acting burst through the wall. The burst does heavy damage to anyone caught in its area.
QFlashpointflashEQUIP a Blinding charge. FIRE the charge to set a fast-acting burst through the wall. The charge detonates to Blind all players looking at it.
EFault LinedamageEQUIP a Seismic Blast. HOLD FIRE to increase the distance. RELEASE to set off the quake, Concussing all players in its zone and in a line up to the zone.
XRolling ThunderdamageEQUIP a Seismic Charge. FIRE to send a cascading quake through all terrain in a large zone. The quake Concusses and knocks up anyone caught in it.

Why, in Riot's words
We're also aiming to create more consistency across the game's various debuffs, making it easier to build muscle memory when playing with or against effects like Nearsight, Concuss, and Stims.
Flashes have always been a critical tool for challenging angles, and in a world with less frequent signature abilities, we want them to retain the power needed to start fights. To support that, we've increased the strength of Initiator flashes so they remain reliable tools for setting up engagements.
Most Duelist gameplay is in a healthy state, so we're making minor tunings. We want stuns and slows to feel rewarding when they lead to kills, so we're making adjustments that will reward precise timing and well-coordinated ability combos.

Patch 5.122022-12-06
XRolling Thunder
- Ultimate Points increased7to8
Why, in Riot's words
To wrap up the broad updates, we’ve taken a pass at the HP of destructible objects in the game. Damage-over-time area abilities (like Brimstone’s Incindiary and Viper’s Snakebite) now damage enemy utility (read more in the Gameplay Systems Updates), so we’ve increased the health of 1hp destructibles so that they aren’t instantly vaporized—but can still be destroyed by one-shot in most situations. Also, Killjoy’s Lockdown gets a bigger health bump to reduce the number of abilities that can destroy it solo. Boombot and Prowlers on the other hand have felt like they require unloading too many bullets given their other strengths, so the health of those abilities have been reduced.
Patch 1.072020-09-01
- Charges increased from2to3
- Reduced windup time from 0.6 secondsto0.5 seconds
- Detonation delay between blasts decreased from0.3to0.255 Concussion
- Concuss now de-scopes players and prevents re-scoping
Why, in Riot's words
Off-screen flashes now match behavior of other flashes in the game and apply a minimum amount of flash more aggressively
Breach should be a choice pick in offensive entry and breaking utility. While the flash’s power was pretty good, too few charges were holding him back on being able to provide this value for his team. Considering he needs teammates to capitalize on his flashes, this should make up for that cost by simply having more of them. Rolling Thunder
