What repeats?

  1. 1. Single phase · PullBoss position picks which fountains he drains; every venom add must die before the center.

The loop: Imbibe at each 100 energy drains the two nearest fountains: Blood + Shadow → Shadow + Fire → Fire + Blood, repeat (simple strategy: Shadow + Fire every time).

Next three

  • Venom Fountains — Rotate so one new fountain enters each cycle and no Infusion is doubled up.
  • Malignant Burst — An assigned add team turns to each new spawn and kills it short of the center.
  • Hardened Venom — Kill adds as they spawn, well before the 60-second mark.

Where the guide disagrees

Nothing found: the Heroic guide agrees with itself, and no later hotfix changes what it says about Vashnik.

What happens when? · Single phase

Imbibe: Tanks park him by the planned pair; healers use cooldowns and players use defensives.

When do tanks swap?

Hard swap on every Dripping Fangs cast.

  • Walk Vashnik to the planned fountain pair before each Imbibe and call it out loud.
  • Simple strategy: hold him between the Shadow and Fire fountains all fight.
  • Swap on every Dripping Fangs cast.

Where do I stand?

  1. Default: tank Vashnik beside the two fountains planned for the next Imbibe.
  2. Simple strategy: park him between the Shadow and Fire fountains for the whole fight.
  3. Add team turns toward each fresh spawn; adds walk inward from the fountains to the center.
  4. Plague Froth targets move out; everyone stays off their four cardinal lines.
  5. Spread to cover every Catalytic Bile impact instead of stacking.

Setup on Heroic: 2 tanks · 4 healers · 14 DPS. From Method’s guide, 2026-09-03.

What does each role do?

Tanks
  • Walk Vashnik to the planned fountain pair before each Imbibe and call it out loud.
  • Simple strategy: hold him between the Shadow and Fire fountains all fight.
  • Swap on every Dripping Fangs cast.
Healers
  • Use healing cooldowns on each Imbibe.
  • Toxic Vapor stacks with every Imbibe, so raid damage only rises.
  • Stagger Exploding Infection dispels; hold them while raid health is low.
  • Agree the Siphoning Infection call in advance so healers know it each time.
Damage dealers
  • Kill every venom add as it spawns, before it reaches the center.
  • Burning Venom: keep one in CC, kill the other, then the second when its DoT ends.
  • Cleave down each Clotting Venom split; nothing CCs them.
  • Simple strategy: DK grips pull the Burning Venom to the boss; otherwise ranged CC them.
  • Use Hero/Lust on pull.

On Mythic

  • Method’s plan keeps the boss in a single spot between the Fire and Shadow fountains and heals through the ramp.
  • The Fire fountain brings three Burning Venom adds — banish one, grip two to the middle, kill them one by one.
  • New on Mythic: Malignant Totems appear on your side of the room; Plague Froth waves (two sets a cycle) wipe them out.
  • The next Imbibe pops every totem left: one is survivable, two almost always wipe.
  • A fifth healer is worth it — there is no damage enrage to race.

If it goes wrong?

Venom Fountains
Losing the order can stack one Infusion three times, which wipes the raid.
Malignant Burst
Several arrivals stack bursts and usually end the pull.
Malignant Catalyst
A bile with nobody near it hits the whole raid harder.

  2. Venom FountainsSingle phaseTankA drained fountain gives a stacking 90-second Infusion that boosts its expulsion and its adds’ health.

Your job: Not your job — the tanks handle it.

  3. Malignant BurstSingle phaseAddsA venom add reaching the center Malignant Cavity hits the raid hard and stacks a 30-second DoT.

Your job: Not your job — melee and ranged handle it.

  4. Hardened VenomSingle phaseAddsVenom adds still alive after 60 seconds become immune to CC and 50% faster.

Your job: Not your job — melee and ranged handle it.

  5. Clotting VenomSingle phaseAddsBlood fountain add, immune to CC (Sanguineous Fortitude); it splits into smaller copies on death.

Your job: Not your job — melee and ranged handle it.

  6. Shrouded VenomSingle phaseAddsShadow fountain add with a shield equal to its health; on death, Umbral Ejection circles appear.

Your job: Not your job — melee and ranged handle it.

  7. Burning VenomSingle phaseAddsFire fountain pair; each pulses raid Fire damage and dies in a Caustic Surge with a stacking DoT.

Your job: Not your job — melee and ranged handle it.

  8. Siphoning InfectionSingle phaseStackBlood infection: blocks all healing, and the target’s Siphon Blood drains nearby allies to heal.

Your job: Stand in the infected player’s circle so they heal through it; decide this once and repeat it.

  9. Stygian InfectionSingle phaseSpreadShadow infection: a healing absorb, and Stygian Burst pulses that hit anyone within 6 yards.

Your job: Infected players spread out; it can be healed.

  10. Exploding InfectionSingle phaseDispelFire infection: a DoT that hits the whole raid with Caustic Explosion when removed.

Your job: Stagger dispels, and hold them while raid health is low.

  11. Malignant CatalystSingle phaseSoakAn orb over the center explodes and throws Catalytic Bile; each splashes players within 6 yards.

Your job: Spread so every bile impact has at least one player in range; don’t stack on one.

  12. Plague FrothSingle phaseSpreadSeveral players damage allies within 5 yards for 8 sec, then fire Plague Wave lines in 4 cardinal ways.

Your job: Targets move away and aim the lines off the boss; everyone stays off those four axes.

  13. Dripping FangsSingle phaseTankBig Physical bite plus a Nature DoT and a stacking 32-second 100% Physical damage taken debuff.

Your job: Not your job — the tanks handle it.

  14. Toxic VaporSingle phaseHealEach Imbibe adds a permanent stack of raid Nature damage that ticks harder — the soft enrage.

Your job: Shorten the kill: leaked adds and sloppy infection handling are what drag it out.
