CT setup4 guides

schematic · not a Valve radar
  1. 1Banana — Open the round by burning Banana with a molotov and a smoke to stall the T push, then give the lane up and fall back once your grenades are spent.
  2. 2Coffins — Anchor B from cover at the back of the site, on a different line from your partner so the two of you can trade instead of being cleared together.
  3. 3Arch — Float between the sites from the Arch/Library side: watch for mid aggression, help whichever site is hit and rotate early when A is committed to.
  4. 4Pit — Anchor A from Pit covering A Short and the Balcony drop; once Ts own Apartments, don't try to fight Balcony and Short at the same time.
  5. 5Apartments — Set the A tempo: either take an early Boiler/Window look for Second Mid info, or give Apartments up and hold the Balcony drop with Pit; don't die early, because losing this player hands Ts the site.
When: The baseline buy-round setup in every guide checked: two players fight for and anchor B, one player floats on the Arch/Library side between the sites, two hold A.Also called: 2-2-1 (CSDB.gg) · 2+3 (Profilerr) · 3 A / 2 B (bo3.gg)bo3.gg (2023) puts the third A player on A Long with an AWP instead of on Arch/Library.6 guides · newest 12 Sept 2026

Mid control decision tree

Can the Ts take Top Mid and cross Second Mid safely, so that A Short, A Long and an Apartments split all become threats?
Top Mid taken with flashes and utility. The CTs have to respect A Short, A Long, an Apartments split and a late swing back to B.Split A (Short + Apartments or Short + Long) or keep the pressure and go B late.
A CT is watching Second Mid from Window or Boiler.Smoke Window or flash Bridge before crossing, and molotov/HE Boiler from Second Mid.Cross into Apartments and join the A split.
Mid is taken but nothing follows.Good CT teams re-take mid or stack a site while the Ts wait.Decide immediately: fast A split, hold the pressure, or switch to a B play.

Solo-queue call ladder

  1. 1Agree on one simple default each round; full executes rarely work with randoms. guide
  2. 2Learn and throw your own key smokes instead of counting on teammates to do it. guide
  3. 3Call exact numbers, positions (callouts, not "left"), utility you see and kills you get; say when you are guessing and how old your information is. guide
  4. 4Announce anything that departs from the plan — taking the bomb elsewhere or lurking; an unannounced lurk just leaves the team a player down. guide
  5. 5If unsure what to play, take support: learn a handful of grenades, throw them for others and trade. guide
  6. 6Stay quiet in clutches unless the info is vital, never flame randoms, mute if needed. guide
  7. 7Settle buys together in freeze time; players with spare money drop weapons for poorer teammates. guide

  • Call it when: After the Ts have won Banana up to Car/Sandbags.Entry order: Take Banana first. Then land the CT and Coffins grenades, flash over Sandbags and walk in as one tight group so every entry can be traded; clear each close corner before settling into post-plant spots.Plant: In front of New Box (plant for New Box)Post-plant: Spread three ways: one by New Box/Quad, one tucked deep in Dark or Coffins, and one back up Banana to punish CTs who re-enter from there.$1,600 of grenades at Valve’s prices — whether the round can carry it is the economy board’s call. The July 2025 update opened church windows above Coffins and reshaped the first B box, and October 2025 adjusted the top of Quad; 2023–2024 lineups for Coffins and CT may need re-checking.6 guides · newest 12 Sept 2026

Utility order(Banana control into B execute)

  1. 1. Molotov → CarOpening Banana-control molotov to flush a CT from behind the car.
  2. 2. Smoke → CT
  3. 3. Smoke → Coffins
  4. 4. Flash → BananaSource says 'over the Sandbags', i.e. at the site end of Banana; Sandbags is not in the callout list.
  5. 5. Molotov → CoffinsCSDB.gg and CS2.eu molotov Coffins (and Dark, a B-site corner not in the callout list) instead of smoking it — see contradictions.
The lineups live on the Inferno utility page — this list is the order only.

Round review: errors → repairs

If CTs push / we lose a player

  • Stay tradeable: keep enough spacing that a teammate can punish your killer — not stacked on top of each other, not so far back that the defender escapes. guide
  • The trading player swings right after first contact, before the enemy can reset; on a numbers advantage, count down a double peek. guide
  • Do not be the first to see an enemy unless the trade or your utility is ready; an entry only works as a pair, and an untraded first death gives the enemy free value. guide
  • On CT side, being tradeable means crossfires, a support angle or a fallback route rather than a lone early fight. guide
  • In retakes, enter together and trade instantly instead of trickling in. guide

How fresh

Newest guide 12 Sept 2026Valve’s latest change to Inferno, 8 Jul 2026: “Clipping fix to prevent pixel boost at Top of Mid” — guides from before it (the oldest is 13 Dec 2023) may not show it.
  • 2025-03-31: Banana widened back toward its CS:GO size; view into Pit and the B-site background simplified; a pixel gap at Coffins removed. Guides published before this date (bo3 2023, Profilerr 2024) describe the narrower CS2-launch Banana.
  • 2025-07-28: Church windows opened above Coffins; the church-garden path narrowed at the entrance door and widened by Coffins; first box on B reshaped; A-site balcony railing repaired; Banana visuals decluttered. B retake and post-plant angles around Coffins/Construction changed; older Coffins/Construction lineups may no longer land the same way.
  • 2025-10-22: Visibility adjustments at the top of Quad (B) and under Balcony (A). Small sightline changes at a common B post-plant spot and under the A balcony.
  • 2026-03-04: A-site Balcony extended and Graveyard closed off. Any guide step that uses Graveyard (molotov, hide, post-plant) no longer applies; Balcony drops onto A changed shape.
  • 2026-07-08: Clipping fix removing a pixel boost at Top of Mid. Minor; removes one off-angle around Top Mid.

Contradictions

5
  • Name of the standard CT setupOne view: CSDB.gg calls it 2-2-1: two B, two A, one flex on Arch/Library. CS2.eu lists 2 Banana/B, 1 Mid/Arch, 2 A/Apps.Another: Profilerr calls it 2+3 (the third A player sits near Library for Arch); bo3.gg says 3 A and 2 B with an AWP on A Long. Same player split, different labels and third-A spot.
  • How many Ts fight for Banana in the defaultOne view: Two on Banana, the rest in Apartments/Second Mid/Mid (CSDB.gg, bo3.gg).Another: Three on Banana, with the remaining two supporting and holding Middle (Profilerr).
  • Coffins in the B execute: smoke or molotovOne view: Smoke Coffins together with the CT smoke (bo3.gg, Winio, CS2 Pulse, Esports Rambles).Another: Molotov Coffins and Dark after the CT smoke (CSDB.gg, CS2.eu).
  • How winnable B retakes areOne view: Retakes favour the CTs because rotation paths are short and covered (CSDB.gg).Another: B is very hard to retake once the Ts have a post-plant; consider saving (CS2.eu); retakes are expensive (Winio).
  • Graveyard as a positionOne view: Winio (Sept 2026) still lists a Graveyard molotov in the A execute, and CSDB.gg lists Graveyard as cover and a post-plant spot.Another: Valve's 4 March 2026 update closed Graveyard.

Why this plan?

All five slots filled — no gaps.

Each line on this board is a row from a guide — a default, a setup, a branch, an execute — cited where it shows. The missing-player rule, the swap rule and the coordination count are ours, and say so.

Entry:
First player into contested space; job is to win the opening duel or die where a teammate can trade and take the space.
Support:
Throws most of the set utility, flashes for others and is the trade behind the entry.
Lurk:
Plays away from the main group, holds ground the team left, cuts rotations and closes late rounds — with timing agreed with the team.
AWPer:
Carries the team's most expensive weapon to close or open long sightlines; a team purchase, not a personal one.
IGL:
Calls the round, reads it mid-round and manages the team's money.
Anchor:
CT who holds a site alone or in a pair and is judged on surviving long enough for help, using delay utility.
Rotator:
CT who floats between areas and decides when the noise is real before moving.
